About the Role

Tetra Tech is seeking a highly skilled Air Traffic Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to the FAA Performance Based Navigation (PBN) Programs and Policy Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Airspace Optimization: Provide technical assistance related to the optimization of airspace and procedure design in PBN projects.
  • Technical Support: Operate the Terminal Area Route Generation Evaluation Traffic Simulation (TARGETS) software and provide recommendations to the FAA regarding problem reports or enhancements to these systems.
  • Data Analysis: Retrieve and analyze PBN and air traffic data from various sources, including the PBN Dashboard Observer, the Project Tracking Tool (PTT), and the Sector Design and appropriate radar data retrieval programs.
  • Procedure Design: Provide expertise to the FAA regarding Instrument Flight Procedures (IFP) design risks and alternatives.
  • Review and Compliance: Review and provide expertise to the Operations Support Group (OSG) Office on FAA Orders and Directives pertaining to criteria affecting PBN procedure design.
  • Quality Assurance: Review own work for accuracy and compliance with criteria.
  • Team Collaboration: Supervise the work of graphics specialists and provide any technical assistance they may require.
  • Software Support: Provide TARGETS support for meetings and produce draft-meeting documents.
  • Professional Development: Maintain proficiency using software tools necessary for procedure development, and standard office applications such as Microsoft Office.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors degree (desired) or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: A minimum of 15 years experience as a Certified Professional Controller (CPC).
  • Technical Skills: Experience, within the last three years, working with complex automation tools, CAD software, or similar applications.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent facilitation and project management skills, excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of and experience with airspace or procedures design, analytical skills, and knowledge of Terminal Area Route Generation Evaluation Traffic Simulation (TARGETS) software.
What We Offer
