As a skilled Ambulatory Care Nurse at Medstar, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the quality of care to patients during episodic and chronic visits.

  • Assist physicians in all diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and provide education, counseling, and support to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the educational needs of patients related to their condition and develop a health education plan.
  • Collaborate with the primary medical care team to formulate and document ambulatory care plans for patients and families.
  • Communicate patient's clinical information clearly and accurately in verbal and written format.
  • Implement medical orders and the primary medical care plan for each patient.

Requirements:

  • Valid RN license in the District of Columbia, Maryland, or Virginia required.
  • 1-2 years related nursing experience, preferably in an ambulatory health setting or related specialty involving substantial public contact required.
  • RNC-OB C- Electronic Fetal Mon Perinatal nurses must obtain certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) from the National Certification Corporation (NCC) within 12 months from date of hire.
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required.
