We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Admissions Specialist to join our team at UHS. As a key member of our admissions team, you will be responsible for handling all inquiries from patients, families, emergency room departments, physicians, therapists, and other referral sources.
Key Responsibilities- Provide crisis counseling, referral, and facilitation of assessments, admissions, and transfers to patients and their families.
- Initiate the nursing review process with sending facilities to determine the level of medical appropriateness for transfer.
- Ensure thorough documentation of all inquiries and patient-related information.
- Lead the daily operations of your designated shift and assist the Manager and Director of Admissions with intake-related tasks.
- Supervise a team of 3-4 intake clinicians and provide guidance and coaching as needed.
- RN License or a Master's in Psychology or Social Work.
- Minimum of 2 years of behavioral health experience, preferably in an Intake/Triage environment with experience in handling crisis situations or direct patient care.
- Thorough knowledge of emotional disturbances and DSM-V diagnosis.
- Ability to quickly assess patients for their risk to themselves or others.
- Excellent communication and telephone etiquette skills.
- Proficient computer skills and ability to multitask.
- Detail-oriented and able to relate to those in crisis and/or emotionally disturbed.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to take vital signs.
