Key Responsibilities

As a Safety and Compliance Manager, you will:

  • Develop, revise, and enforce safety policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Establish and manage an annual safety budget.
  • Continuously assess and improve safety protocols to mitigate emerging risks.
  • Conduct training sessions for employees, focusing on best practices and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Provide ongoing education regarding new safety standards and procedures.
  • Facilitate effective communication regarding safety matters across all departments.
  • Foster a culture of safety awareness through regular communication and safety campaigns.
  • Lead initiatives related to worker compensation, including investigations into accidents and incidents, documenting findings, and recommending preventive actions.
  • Monitor and analyze worker's compensation claims and OSHA recordables.
  • Prepare reports on safety performance for management review.
  • Aim for a measurable reduction in the percentage, number, or cost of worker's compensation claims and experience modification rate.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Safety Manager, preferably within the landscaping, construction, or a related sector.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • A strong understanding of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and claims management principles.
  • Bilingual proficiency, with Spanish being a requirement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • A valid local driver's license and a clean driving record.
