Senior Visual Storyteller

This position encompasses comprehensive responsibilities related to visual content creation and management. The role is pivotal in supporting a multimedia and communications initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the principal photographer for the contract, overseeing all photographic needs.
  • Utilize specialized digital cameras and associated equipment, making all technical decisions based on the objectives set by stakeholders.
  • Plan and coordinate photographic coverage for various events, including high-profile visits, official gatherings, sports events, and news photography relevant to the organization.
  • Employ diverse camera techniques and settings to produce visually appealing and informative images.
  • Engage with officials to discuss technical requirements and tailor photographic approaches to meet specific requests.
  • Handle photography of various subjects, including:
    • Technical drawings, charts, and maps, ensuring precise calculations and adjustments.
    • Site work or individuals in detail to support legal and contractual claims.
    • Artistic layouts requiring meticulous equipment settings.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet eligibility criteria for a SECRET security clearance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in photography.
  • Proficient in industry-standard graphic design and photo editing software on both PC and MAC platforms.
  • Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and other imaging enhancement tools.
  • Familiarity with Adobe graphics software such as InDesign and Illustrator is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of photo identification processes and caption writing for compliance with image database protocols.
  • Experience with digital SLR cameras, lenses, and lighting systems for optimal image production in various environments.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute across different areas as needed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capability to work independently and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
  • A portfolio showcasing relevant skills and creativity will be required for review.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands for this role include the ability to operate standard office equipment and perform tasks in various settings. Candidates must be able to drive and travel as necessary, which may involve extended periods of sitting. Vision and hearing capabilities are essential for effective communication and interaction.
