About the Role

LMI is seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Mid-to-Senior Exercise Operations Analyst. As a key member of our space domain operations team, you will play a critical role in supporting U.S. Space Command's advanced analytics staff with modeling, simulation, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with Senior Leaders: Collaborate with USSPACECOM senior leaders and space-related customers to understand their analysis needs and translate them into work products.
  • Modeling and Simulation: Understand, manage, and translate current and future operational concepts, campaign and operations scenarios, and platform and system specs into representative simulations for assessing space systems, capabilities, missions, operations, and architectures.
  • Systems Modeling Language (SysML): Develop, refine, and curate SysML data models as the foundation for modeling, simulation, and analysis through collaboration with government and industry organizations.
  • Agile Analytical Sprint Processes: Actively participate in Agile analytical sprint processes and ceremonies.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with software developers to ensure space-related modeling, simulation, and analysis frameworks and tools accurately represent agent-based platforms, systems, and architectures.
  • Advanced Analytical Approaches: Collaborate with data scientists and other analytical experts to guide advanced analytical approaches and evaluate results.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate within and across small Government-Contractor-FFRDC teams and their respective subject matter experts to refine SysML data.
  • Research and Development: Dive into research on technical development aspects (e.g., space orbit astrodynamics, unique DoD systems functionality) to ensure platform and system models are accurate.
  • Product Demonstration: Demonstrate your analytical products to customers.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5 – 15 years of professional experience or master's degree in a STEM field with 3 – 13 years of professional experience. May substitute educational degree for experience.
  • Space Domain Operations Experience: Space domain operations experience and understanding in multiple areas of: astrodynamics; orbital mechanics; rendezvous and proximity operations; satellite communications; missile warning/missile defense; space-based positioning, navigation and timing; remote sensing; environmental monitoring; command and control; battle management; and space domain awareness.
  • Joint Space Warfighting Experience: Relevant joint space warfighting experience in an operational, science and technology, or operational test organization.
  • Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis Tools: Exposure to modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
  • Customer Engagement: Proven track record of engaging with customers, product users, and coworkers to create innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Curiosity and Desire for Challenge: Possess a natural curiosity and desire to challenge yourself and those around you.
  • Briefing and Presentation: Ability to brief USSPACECOM senior leaders on your findings and analytic models.
  • Security Clearance: This position requires an active security clearance at the Top Secret level, with Sensitive Compartmented Information eligibility. You must be a US Citizen.
Desired Qualifications
  • Joint Environment Experience: Prior experience working in a Joint Environment or Combatant Command.
  • Exercise and Wargame Design: Prior experience with Combatant Command level exercise or wargame design.
  • Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) Process: Understanding of the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) process.
  • Space 100, 200, or 300: Graduate of Space 100, 200, or 300.
  • Programming Skills: Ability to code in relevant language (Python preferred, MATLAB acceptable) to support modeling, simulation, and data analytics.
  • Database Languages: Experience with database languages (MongoDB preferred).
  • Planning and Participation: Planning or participating in joint military utility assessments.
  • Systems Modeling Language (SysML): Experience using Scrum.
  • Model Based System Engineering Software: Experience using Model Based System Engineering software (Cameo Systems Modeler preferred).
  • Orbital Analysis Visualization Tools: Experience using orbital analysis visualization tools, such as Systems ToolKit, FreeFlyer, Space Domain Characterization and Control System.
Compensation

Target salary range: $102,000 - $180,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
