Clinic Hours: 6am - 4pm, Monday through Saturday
As a Healthcare Support Specialist at Fresenius Medical Care, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals who rely on our services, their families, and your fellow healthcare professionals. You will establish meaningful connections with patients visiting our clinic.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the setup, testing, and operation of hemodialysis machines for patient treatments.
- Record and document essential pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.
- Assess vascular access prior to treatment and perform cannulation as needed.
- Identify and address intradialytic issues as directed by physician orders.
- Monitor patient responses to dialysis therapy.
- Evaluate patients before terminating venous access and discontinue treatment according to established protocols.
- Communicate any significant changes in patient conditions to the supervisor.
- Accurately enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application in a timely manner.
- Collect, label, and prepare lab samples in accordance with laboratory specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of dialysis machines, chairs, and surrounding areas between treatments.
- Support other healthcare team members in providing patient education.
- Efficiently manage supplies and equipment to minimize waste.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Desired qualities: dependable, compassionate, supportive, collaborative, and reliable.
- Previous experience in patient care within a healthcare setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and CPR certification.

- Daily responsibilities include desk work, personal computer use, and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians. The role may require travel between assigned facilities and various community locations.
- The work environment is typical of a healthcare facility, featuring controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels. Employees may be exposed to infectious and contagious materials.
- This position involves direct patient care, which frequently requires heavy lifting and assistance with patient mobility. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide support. The role necessitates prolonged periods of standing, bending, and the ability to lift and lower solutions up to 30 lbs. regularly, and occasionally up to 40 lbs.
