Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the growth and issuance of mortgage loans for Low-To-Moderate Income (LMI) borrowers by acting as the product expert for the Truist Affordable Housing offerings and Down Payment Assistance initiatives.
  • Implement a strategic action plan and a Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) strategy to position Truist as a leader in Affordable Housing Lending, fostering partnerships with relevant government entities and engaging in affordable housing organizations to enhance productivity in the LMI/CRA lending sector.
  • Collaborate with community, faith-based, and non-profit organizations, providing guidance and training for homeownership education, credit counseling, and facilitating a better understanding of the mortgage lending process.
  • Promote the Truist referral process within the LMI/CRA Strategy by working with key partners on initiatives and sponsorships that improve services for LMI mortgage clients; actively engage in committees and boards as appropriate.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of the Mortgage Strategies, Policies, and Procedures, along with the guidelines set by secondary market investors utilized by Truist.
  • Ensure full compliance with all Truist policies and procedures related to internal and external regulations, particularly those mandated by State and Federal law.
  • Assist Mortgage Loan Fulfillment with follow-up on client, attorney, or appraiser documentation as identified through quality control or post-closing review.

Qualifications:

Required:
- Minimum of 2 years in residential mortgage lending sales or equivalent experience with government or non-profit housing agencies.
- Strong understanding of the Mortgage Lending Process.
- Excellent verbal, written, and communication abilities.
- Solid interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications.
- Must comply with the SAFE Mortgage Licensing Act within 30 days of employment, including registration and background checks.

Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of the local market.
- Over three years of experience in mortgage lending sales or equivalent.
- Previous recognition in sales and leadership roles.


Working Conditions:

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and bending are required, with the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must be able to access and interpret client information via computer and communicate effectively in person and over the phone. Capable of operating standard office equipment, including PCs, keyboards, and printers.


Travel Requirements:

Willingness to travel up to 75% as necessary.
