We are seeking a Mortgage Advisor to join our Durham Team to help create and protect ownership and economic opportunity for all communities.
Role Overview:
The Mortgage Advisor will work with delinquent mortgage borrowers to help them retain ownership of their homes and reduce losses for the credit union.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide case management services to delinquent mortgage borrowers, including analysis of borrower's financial situation, budgeting, and explanation of mortgage terms and options.
Maintain detailed case notes, including assessment of borrower, collateral, and next action steps.
Conduct site visits with borrowers on an as needed basis, including borrower and collateral assessment.
Assist borrowers with resolving servicer issues and navigating the servicing and workout process.
Prepare for and participate in mandatory case management meetings, trainings, and other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Bilingual fluency, verbal and written required.
An understanding of loss mitigation and/or mortgage delinquency concepts desired.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups and/or individuals.
Mathematical skills, including calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, and ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting of financial data preferred.
