Human Resources Generalist

About the Role
The Human Resources Generalist is a key member of the Great Dane team, responsible for supporting all functions of the Human Resources department. This role requires a strong generalist with a broad range of skills and experience in HRIS, employee relations, compensation and benefits, talent management, and organizational development.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain employee-related databases and prepare reports to support HR functions.
- Partner with local management to communicate HR policies, procedures, and laws.
- Conduct workplace investigations and advise managers on employment issues.
- Assist with monitoring employee wages and promotions, and process personnel-related documentation.
- Administer benefits enrollment and handle leaves of absence requests.
- Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with company policies and governmental laws.
- Handle full-cycle recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate interviews, and reference checks.
- Maintain employee hardcopy files and input data into the HRIS database.
- Process various forms related to documenting HR activities.
- Handle employee inquiries on policies, benefits, payroll, and compensation.
- Assist the HR Manager in identifying and resolving employee relations, employee morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns.
- Assist with managing and implementing engagement committee events.
- Complete documentation for employment verifications, medical support, and unemployment claimant responses.
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
- At least two years of experience working with an HRIS, including employee relations and HRIS.
- Certifications: PHR/SPHR preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to perform statistical analysis.
- Previous HRIS experience, including applicant tracking systems.
- Advanced experience in MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of recruiting, human resources, and organizational development practices and procedures.
- Ability to recruit and evaluate applicants using independent judgment and discretion.
- Understand administrative procedures and systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Positive attitude, high energy, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented.
