Job Summary

The Colville Tribes is seeking a highly skilled Forestry Engineer I/Sr. to join our team. As a key member of our forestry department, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our forest resources, ensuring sustainable forestry practices, and developing and implementing forest management plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement forest management plans to ensure sustainable forestry practices
  • Manage and maintain forest resources, including timber harvesting and reforestation
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective forest management
  • Conduct field inspections and monitoring to ensure compliance with forestry regulations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including tribal members, landowners, and other government agencies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in forestry, forest management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in forestry or a related field
  • Valid WA State Drivers' License
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in forestry or a related field
  • Experience with forest management software and technology
  • Knowledge of tribal forestry regulations and policies
