Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Community Development Mortgage Loan Officer to join our team at Stone Alliance Group, contributing to our mission of making a positive impact in the community through affordable housing initiatives.

This role will focus on generating residential mortgages to Low to Moderate Income (LMI) communities, majority-minority communities, LMI individuals, and minority individuals in assigned market territories.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Mortgage Origination: Generate mortgage applications on a consistent basis to meet or exceed established monthly minimum production expectations.
  2. Community Outreach: Participate in community organizations to increase CRA visibility for the bank and make loans to low- and moderate-income borrowers.
  3. Loan Sourcing: Self-source loans through established referral partners, community organizations, housing agencies, local business leaders, realtors, and other referral sources.
  4. Home-Buying Seminars: Coordinate and conduct home-buying training seminars for potential CRA and multicultural origination mortgage applicants.
  5. Community Partnerships: Partner with community, non-profit, and government agencies focused on affordable housing programs or minority communities.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of industry regulations and governmental requirements as they relate to CRA housing needs.
  7. Annual Compliance Training: Complete all yearly compliance training and testing, and comply with bank, federal, and state regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and/or Experience: BA/BS degree or equivalent experience in residential mortgage sales preferred, with 2-4 years of residential loan processing, loan origination experience, or housing counseling experience with a financial institution, mortgage banking company, or not-for-profit agency.
  • Skills: Advanced ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, across a broad range of audiences; demonstrated advanced ability to achieve sales goals and objectives by developing a positive customer experience; advanced level of professional skills and understanding of loans and services with high complexity and significance to the business unit; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; extensive knowledge of mortgage loan products, conventional loan structures, and Federal and State regulations.
  • Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registrations: National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) registration required; ability to obtain said license after a period to be determined by decisionmaker.
