Job Summary

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fluids Components Manager to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Lunar Permanence business unit, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver high-performance fluids components for our Lunar landers. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering effort in space exploration and to contribute to the development of sustainable infrastructure for human presence in space.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers and technicians to design, analyze, and manufacture high-performance fluids components for our Lunar landers.
  • Develop and implement robust plans to meet deliverables and manage key operating metrics, including technical, cost, schedule, and risk.
  • Collaborate with internal customers to understand requirements and optimize solutions that meet mission needs.
  • Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the highest caliber.
  • Monitor technical progress, requirements, budget, schedule, deliverables, and risks, and review recommendations for change with program management.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering or related technical subject area.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide cost and schedule leadership of a team.
  • 5+ years managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for leading and coaching employees.
  • 10+ years directly related experience.
  • In-depth understanding of fluids components and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Track record of delivering large integrated products on schedule and in budget.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with space vehicle design.
  • Experience with valves or mechanical components.
  • Experience managing suppliers/subcontracts.
  • Experience with aerospace components.
  • Experience with CAD (Creo), Windchill PLM, and GD&T.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage test campaigns.
  • Familiarity with agile project management.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, IMP/IMS, risk management, requirements management, and Cost Account Management such as EVM.
