Certified Space Software Expert for Lunar Transportation Systems

Lunar Permanence: This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further our mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building a sustainable infrastructure to transport crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.
As a System Engineer on the Lunar Permanence Program Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Requirements, Verification, and Certification (RVC) team, you will be responsible for the certification of software across the Program and certification of critical models and simulations. Your work will enable the development of the Human Landing System (HLS) and Human-class Delivery Lander (HDL). You will work directly with Blue Origin LP elements, our National Team Partners, and NASA. You will play a key role in developing the lunar transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with software teams to ensure the Program meets software requirements.
- Assure the Program meets software and models & simulations technical standards for Blue Origin and NASA requirements.
- Support software-related safety products produced for the Program.
- Track software certification product metrics.
- Perform high-caliber technical work and provide technical leadership.
- Use good engineering and business judgment to ensure efficient and effective product design, manufacturing, procurement, testing, qualification, and delivery.
- Work independently to achieve long-range objectives without appreciable direction and determine technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions.
- Embody, promote, and coach Blue Origin leadership principles.
- Provide leadership and guidance to element teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with NASA standards, such as NPR 7150.2D Software Engineering Standard or equivalent.
- Experience with NASA standards, such as NASA-STD-7009 Models and Simulations Standard or equivalent.
- Experience with NASA standards, such as NASA-STD-8739.8A Software Safety Standard or equivalent.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Estimated Salary: $120,060-$154,077, based on the job requirements and location.
