Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician Trainee to join our team at the Ludeman Developmental Center in Park Forest, Illinois. As a trainee, you will receive comprehensive instruction and training in caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, with a focus on providing high-quality support and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including physical care, habilitation, and behavioral support.
  • Complete classroom training and on-the-job training assignments, totaling a minimum of 120 hours in formal classroom training and 400 hours in on-the-job training.
  • Supervise and escort individuals during activities, including self-help activities, education, and medical events.
  • Perform basic housekeeping assignments, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Work variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to be physically able to perform the duties of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
