Position Overview:

The Agricultural Operations Specialist is responsible for a range of administrative and operational duties, collaborating closely with the Executive Director of Field Services. The Field Services team engages with local agricultural organizations and their volunteers to advocate for farming and educate communities on agricultural practices and concerns. The incumbent must exhibit strong organizational capabilities to enhance the mission of Indiana Farm Bureau and lead key initiatives effectively.

Essential Knowledge and Qualifications:

The Agricultural Operations Specialist requires:

· A minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent (degrees in agriculture are advantageous but not mandatory); 2 to 3 years of relevant experience is preferred. Previous experience in the agricultural sector is beneficial.

· Close collaboration with the Field Services team to provide operational assistance in areas such as administration, budgeting, reporting, membership, policies, and operational systems.

· Exceptional communication and organizational skills to liaise with regional managers and support various events and activities.

· The ability to offer information, guidance, and direction to local volunteers.

· Independence in work without direct supervision, with the capacity to prioritize tasks; exercise initiative and sound judgment in decision-making within the scope of assigned responsibilities.

· A commitment to meeting the expectations and needs of members and stakeholders by building and maintaining effective relationships based on trust and respect.

· Proficiency in delivering presentations in diverse settings, both internally and externally.

· A problem-solving mindset, assisting others in addressing challenges.

· Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including irregular hours, to participate in relevant functions.

· Capability to work both in an office environment and throughout the state with local agricultural organizations.

Physical Requirements and Accommodations:

This position necessitates a valid driver's license and physical mobility to perform job functions effectively while conducting business, including attending events such as fairs and farm visits. Occasionally, the role may require lifting up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to fulfill essential job functions.
