Job Title: Loan Operations Specialist

At BankTalent HQ, we are seeking a highly skilled Loan Operations Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient processing of commercial and consumer loan accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by responding to questions and providing information to ensure accurate and timely account servicing.
  • Provide training to Loan Operations Assistants, Client Support Managers, and Loan Officers.
  • Write and update procedures to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Perform and/or serve as backup for one or more of the following areas of responsibility:
Booking & Servicing:
  • Review loan documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Enter customer and loan application information into the Jack Henry core system.
  • Review and ensure receipt and validity of loan documents.
  • Review all data entry to ensure accuracy.
  • Respond to and research credit bureau requests and any corresponding maintenance.
  • Balance general ledger accounts and prepare related reports.
  • Respond to verbal and written requests for payoff quotes.
  • Process all incoming payments.
Collateral Review:
  • Ensure receipt and validity of loan documents and perform quality checks.
  • Identify and monitor collateral exceptions and update the host system accordingly.
  • Record and release liens.
  • Order post searches and verify proper lien position.
  • Track flood and hazard insurance.
  • Monitor and report all outstanding fees.
  • Prepare subordination agreements.
  • Review daily and monthly tracking reports.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly audits of cash collateral.
Imaging:
  • Open and distribute mail.
  • Prepare documents for scanning.
  • Utilize third-party software to scan hardcopy files to electronic images.
  • Perform manual data entry of required fields for validation and/or verification.
  • Follow production procedures to complete internal indexing, documentation, and tracking.
  • Perform quality checks on documents scanned to ensure accuracy.
  • Review and prepare statements for mailing.
  • File documents and maintain records.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational experience.
  • At least three years of experience in loan servicing, including booking and/or collateral review.
  • Proven skill in reviewing and interpreting loan documentation.
  • Knowledge of compliance and regulations related to collateral and loan servicing.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • High level of computer proficiency and full understanding of Microsoft Office products and similar applications.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines.
