Responsibilities
  • Provide tax advocacy and controversy services on civil matters, representing clients in IRS Examinations, Appeals, and other administrative hearings.
  • Advocate for penalty abatement and late regulatory elections, including 9100 relief.
  • Advocate on clients' behalf before IRS collections and all 50 state tax agencies.
  • Research and consult on various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries when requested, make recommendations to the client for consideration.
  • Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
Qualifications
  • JD, CPA, or EA Required.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a professional services firm providing tax compliance services or equivalent government agency.
  • Previous experience in tax examination, tax advocacy or controversy a plus.
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills, and highly developed Microsoft Suite skills (Word, Excel) required.
  • Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency.
