Position Overview

North Suffolk Community Services Inc. is seeking a dedicated Insurance Admissions Specialist to enhance our admissions team. This role is integral to managing enrollment processes, referrals, and the administrative functions necessary for the admission of clients into our various programs. As a key member of our Admissions and Engagement team, you will be the welcoming voice for individuals seeking our services, with a particular emphasis on insurance and billing matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to inquiries via the Centralized Admissions line, ensuring regular monitoring and resolution of any issues.
  • Maintain client records in accordance with agency standards, ensuring all admissions data is accurately entered and up to date.
  • Organize and digitize client intake documents into the medical records system.
  • Process and distribute all necessary PCP releases and documentation.
  • Record communications with external entities through Information Exchange Notes.
  • Input Social Determinants of Health (SDOH) screenings and ensure all required paperwork is properly signed and recorded.
  • Enter necessary forms for BSAS licensed programs.
  • Oversee the patient notification system and manage Behavioral Health Home referrals and responses.
  • Conduct real-time insurance verifications for clients.
  • Collaborate with community partners and collateral providers.
  • Complete all required documentation in the electronic health record system.
  • Facilitate communication between treatment teams and newly admitted patients.
  • Assess fees and discuss insurance and payment options with clients as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in human services with a similar demographic preferred.
  • Skills: Proficient in office operations and computer applications, particularly Windows (Word, Excel, Access). CPR/FA certification is required or must be obtained as per agency policy. Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.
