Position Overview:

YAI is seeking a dedicated Behavioral Intervention Consultant to fill a clinical role focused on assessing and addressing the behavioral, habilitative, and psychiatric needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This position involves working across various programs to develop and implement tailored interventions that support these needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify the habilitative and behavioral needs of individuals, utilizing both formal and informal methods.
  • Perform functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to analyze factors contributing to behavior and develop individualized support plans.
  • Utilize evidence-based strategies and interventions to promote positive behavioral outcomes and enhance individual well-being.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure that the clinical needs of individuals are met and that staff are trained in person-centered approaches.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented plans, making necessary adjustments based on ongoing assessments.
  • Provide training and mentorship to direct care staff, ensuring proper implementation of behavior management techniques.
  • Engage in regular communication with families and support providers to facilitate a comprehensive support network for individuals.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant clinical field or a National Board certification in behavior analysis.
  • Current licensure in Mental Health Counseling or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of I/DD and co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

Compensation:

  • Annual salary commensurate with education and experience.
