About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Ordnance Engineer III to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our New Glenn program, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and integrating ordnance and explosive systems for our launch vehicle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop innovative solutions for ordnance and explosive hardware
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate systems and ensure safety and reliability
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and standards
  • Conduct testing and validation of ordnance and explosive systems
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience with ordnance and explosive hardware
  • Strong mechanical system design and integration skills
  • Ability to read and apply industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience with explosive hardware throughout its lifecycle
  • Experience with initiators, detonators, frangible joints, and cartridge/propellant actuated devices
  • Experience certifying ordnance per industry standards
  • Experience with System Engineering principles as they apply to human space flight hardware
