About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our Engines business unit, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of our next-generation rocket engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of system design and requirements capture, ensuring accurate flow-down and decomposition.
  • Lead systems engineering activities, including risk management, verification planning, and execution.
  • Develop and manage requirements, interfaces, and system safety products, ensuring no gaps exist in analysis.
  • Coordinate consistent system safety products and review verification records to ensure appropriate rigor.
  • Act as a negotiator between multiple interests to optimize the system as a whole.
  • Work with launch vehicle customers and test sites to create interface definition and design specification documents.
  • Effectively communicate development status, risks, and challenges.
  • Track, evaluate, and report on system metrics.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or a related technical field.
  • 8+ years of system development/integration experience working with complex mechanical systems, 5+ years experience working with liquid rocket engines.
  • Knowledge of current systems engineering and integration tools and methodologies in a safety-critical environment.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively in teams, demonstrated execution and coordination skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team.
  • Experience with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, DNG, Jama, or similar.
  • Experience with Atlassian collaboration tools Jira and Confluence.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in reliability, maintainability, and supportability analysis and execution.
  • System Safety analysis experience, including Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and Functional Hazard Analysis.
  • Basic project management skills.
  • Demonstrated configuration management experience.
  • Experience with failure investigations.
  • Experience supporting proposals.
