Job Description

The Hive Group is seeking a highly skilled Director of Human Resources to lead our HR function and contribute to the company's mission to provide exceptional management consulting services to government and private industry clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing forward-thinking HR strategies that support the company's objectives, ensuring compliance with government contracting regulations and fostering a positive, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead, mentor, and manage an HR team of 2-3 persons, supporting the development, implementation, and execution of policies and initiatives designed to cultivate a positive, inclusive, and legally compliant workplace culture.
  2. Develop and implement forward-thinking HR strategies that support the company's mission and long-term goals, particularly in the context of government contracting.
  3. Lead initiatives in workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning, ensuring the workforce is aligned with contract requirements and future business needs.
  4. Serve as the key liaison with government contracting officers and agencies, leading HR-related audits, compliance reviews, and addressing contract-specific HR requirements.
  5. Develop programs for employee development, retention, and succession planning that address the specialized needs of the government contracting workforce.
  6. Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on HR and labor relations issues, ensuring compliance with federal labor laws, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines, OFCCP regulations, affirmative action policies, and other government contracting regulations.
  7. Develop and manage competitive compensation and benefits programs aligned with industry standards.
  8. Promote a positive work environment through effective leadership in employee relations, performance management, and organizational culture, ensuring adherence to ethical standards.
  9. Oversee the development and maintenance of HR information systems (HRIS), ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant reporting of employee data.
  10. Lead efforts to identify and mitigate risks associated with labor laws, government regulations, and employee relations. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams on any employment or labor disputes.
  11. Assist with compliance and meet set regulations of both federal and state laws.

Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) are highly preferred.

Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have led HR functions within government contracting or other regulated environments.

Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide executive teams on strategic HR initiatives. Strong problem-solving abilities, with proven skills in negotiation, conflict resolution, and risk mitigation in a complex, compliance-driven environment.

Additional Requirements: In-depth knowledge of government contracting and labor regulations. Ability to lead HR transformation in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. Track record of fostering a culture of engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement within a government contracting setting. 2+ years of experience managing others.
