CT Imaging Specialist

The CT Technologist Lead is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient performance of laboratory, general radiography, and computerized tomography imaging procedures and related patient care according to government regulations, physician orders, and the policies and procedures of the Imaging Department and the facility. This role provides leadership and guidance to the team to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. Additionally, this role assists leadership with staffing, report reconciliation, and other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inventory and maintain proper levels of supplies through cooperation with the Facility Radiology Leader.
- Perform radiology studies in accordance with the law and company policy.
- Participate in certification of the facility.
- Follow HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Ensure facilities are clean, well-maintained, and function in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Train new staff to use equipment, follow policy and procedures, know their duties, and become familiar with the work environment.
- Keep the radiology suite clean.
- Review and uphold lab policies and procedures while assisting in the lab.
- Assist in patient care, to the extent that training and education allow, including obtaining vital signs, bringing patients back, and helping set up for procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
- Administer contrast material.
- Follow infection control and safety guidelines.
- Send images to Radiologists for interpretation/reading.
- Accurately interpret physician scanning instructions.
- Prepare and operate CT scan equipment.
- Position patients to capture appropriate images.
- Maintain a monthly schedule, ensuring all shifts are covered, and working open shifts for call-ins if unable to find coverage.
Quality Assurance and Maintenance
- Maintain Trophon weekly and update the shared drive with monthly IC audit for QAPI.
- Assist with shift coverage and openings.
- Assist with maintaining the State Binder.
- Assist with weekend rotational call.
- If available, attend Leadership, QAPI, IC, and EM/EOC Quarterly meetings.
- Assist in Facility Mock Inspections.
- Ensure Daily QA is being done correctly and reading within limits.
- Check dose output on all CT exams.
- Perform maintenance of x-ray equipment, including calibration and weekly shutdown of software.
