Job Summary

The Ferguson-Florissant School District is seeking a highly skilled Instructional Support Leader to facilitate educational programs and related services under the direction of site administrators. This role will involve planning, developing, implementing, and facilitating effective implementation of curriculum and instruction, as well as leading whole school professional development sessions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe, coach, and support instructional staff to ensure that teaching is intentional, engaging, and rigorous, and that teachers are creating a warm, structured, and responsive classroom culture.
  • Monitor and assess teacher performance, identifying growth opportunities in instruction and recommending and implementing solutions in a timely manner.
  • Support the lesson development process and provide feedback to teachers on their lessons and instruction.
  • Build smooth and efficient working relations that directly impact student achievement, working closely and efficiently with the school principal, professional learning communities, and department chairs to ensure student success.
  • Reinforce positive student behavior and establish rapport with students, communicating individual academic progress.
  • Facilitate meetings and processes to meet curriculum guidelines and ensure state mandates are achieved.
  • Manage school administrative functions, such as school schedules, assigned personnel, and summer school, to enforce school, district, and state policy and improve student achievement.
  • Present information to communicate budget overviews, accounting processes, and distribution formulas to ensure adherence to established internal controls.
Requirements
  • A Master's degree in education with 3+ years of experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking, and listening.
  • Experience working with adult learners, including coaching, designing, and facilitating professional development.
  • Strong human relations and organizational skills.
  • The ability to perform multiple tasks.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrated success using data to drive instruction, with a strong understanding of pedagogy that drives results.
  • Experience coaching teachers and using feedback to improve practice.
  • The ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged.
  • Passion and commitment to teaching all students so that every student is performing at or above grade level.
  • Relentless drive to set and achieve ambitious goals.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
