Role Purpose

  • Coordinate fundraising efforts and community engagement initiatives in Southern Nevada.
  • Develop and implement strategies to secure funding through various channels.
  • Support special events and major gift campaigns.
  • Manage donor relationships and stewardship activities.
  • Oversee marketing and communication efforts related to fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves collaboration with the Development and Engagement Director, as well as the Executive Director for Southern Nevada, to strategize and execute comprehensive fundraising and public engagement plans. The Development Coordinator will play a crucial role in driving fundraising initiatives, including:

  • Creating an annual fundraising strategy targeting diverse donor groups such as individuals, organizations, and corporations.
  • Exploring innovative fundraising opportunities through planned giving and seasonal campaigns.

Donor Development

  • Establish and implement effective donor cultivation strategies to ensure a sustainable funding base.
  • Stay informed about current fundraising trends and practices within the nonprofit sector.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, developing tailored solicitation strategies.
  • Design and manage a volunteer giving program.
  • Identify new corporate and foundation funding sources.
  • Ensure accurate and complete donor database management.
  • Coordinate successful fundraising events, ensuring alignment with budget and donor engagement goals.

Management of Fundraising Activities

  • Collaborate with leadership to execute a diversified development strategy addressing unique funding needs.
  • Ensure the development plan incorporates various funding efforts, including corporate and individual giving.

Major Gifts and Stewardship

  • Research and cultivate prospects for major gifts, developing a comprehensive solicitation plan.
  • Create engagement opportunities for donors, including site visits and community events.

Additional Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned as necessary, ensuring alignment with the core competencies of this position. The Development Coordinator will be an integral part of the management team, contributing to collaborative projects that support the overall mission of Communities In Schools.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in nonprofit resource development and management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and donor management software.
  • Established connections within the Southern Nevada community.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.

Work Environment

  • Indoor, climate-controlled office environment with occasional outdoor exposure.
