Job Summary

The Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer will utilize advanced ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images of the heart for diagnostic purposes. This role requires collaboration with cardiologists to ensure accurate and timely interpretation of imaging results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain procedures to patients and assist with proper positioning for tests.
  • Select and adjust equipment according to test specifications.
  • Perform echocardiograms according to policy and procedures.
  • Enter test data and patient information into the computer.
  • Prepare preliminary reports and ensure images and reports are available for interpretation.
  • Check equipment regularly to ensure proper operation.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved course in Cardiac Sonography.
  • Successful completion of the Adult Cardiography registry exam with ARDMS preferred.
  • Clinical experience sufficient for registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
  • Registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers is preferred.
  • CPR certification and Echo Certification.
