Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team at OK-SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital Midwest City, OK. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, providing high-quality images for interpretation.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Set up and adjust equipment, manually maneuvering transducers to perform exams.
  • Implement safety standards and perform quality control procedures.
  • Perform routine and complex studies, assisting in various imaging procedures.
  • Recognize significant structures, artifacts, pathology, and equipment limitations.
  • Ensure equipment is functioning properly, reporting potential problems or malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Submit high-quality images and documents to PACS, ensuring correct labeling and patient data.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies and work in a safe manner.
Education and Experience

An Associate's degree or completion of a sonography certification program is required. No experience is necessary, but a strong foundation in medical imaging and patient care is essential.

Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech for oral communication.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
Required Professional Licenses and Certifications
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
  • Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
Work Environment

This is a PRN position, with a starting pay rate of $40. Shift differentials are available for additional shifts. The work environment is fast-paced, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care.
