Job Summary

The Employment Development Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Disability Insurance Program Manager I to join our team. As a key member of our Disability Insurance Branch, you will play a critical role in delivering quality service to our customers and ensuring the integrity of our Disability Insurance Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction to one or more field office units, ensuring services are delivered in compliance with laws, policies, and procedures governing the Disability Insurance Program.
  • Emphasize program integrity and proper duration control, developing and maintaining staff to ensure proper processing of workload while operating within budgetary limitations.
  • Support continuous capacity building for all unit staff, encouraging open, two-way communication and acting as a coach and role model to members of the management team and all staff.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a marketing program, which includes educating and partnering with program customers, and has knowledge of the office budget processes.
  • Comply with all system security, internal control, and employee safety requirements, and may serve as office manager in the manager's absence.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the Disability Insurance Program and its policies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to staff, ensuring compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions, with a focus on program integrity and proper duration control.
  • Knowledge of office budget processes and ability to manage resources effectively.

Working Conditions

This is a Limited Term for 12 months position and may be extended to 24 months or become permanent at a later date. The position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, and applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
