Job Summary

The Department of Consumer Affairs is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Program Representative I to join our team. As a Program Representative I, you will be responsible for enforcing the laws and regulations of the Automotive Repair Act and the Vehicle Inspection and Maintenance Program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct facility audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Investigate complaints and allegations of non-compliance.
  • Provide education and outreach to consumers and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to achieve program goals.

Requirements

  • Valid California driver's license.
  • Ability to travel throughout California, including overnight stays.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Conditions

The incumbent will work 40 hours per week in a field environment, primarily performing Automotive Repair Dealer and Smog Check station inspections. Daily access to and use of a personal computer and telephone is essential.

Special Requirements

  • Medical clearance prior to being hired.
  • Ability to pass a medical examination to ensure fitness.
