Job Summary

The Disability Insurance Specialist I is a critical role within the Employment Development Department, responsible for developing analytical skills, participating in policy formulation, and gathering and analyzing data to support the administration of the Department's Disability Insurance program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement analytical skills to support policy and procedure formulation
  • Participate in the development of guidelines, training courses, and other tools and materials to assist office management in the administration of the Disability Insurance program
  • Work with field and departmental personnel to secure and disseminate necessary information
  • Prepare reports and correspondence on technical Disability Insurance issues, problems, and concerns
  • May serve as a specialist in analyzing performance measurements and recommending solutions to performance issues
  • May act in a lead capacity in field offices to train, monitor, and advise staff on office operations

Working Conditions

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment.
