Senior Property Accountant Job Description

Lincoln Property Company is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Property Accountant to join our expanding team. As a critical member of our financial team, you will assume the role of financial expert for a designated portfolio of our properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial reporting, working collaboratively with property managers to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and review monthly accruals and straight-line rent journal entries, as well as reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Record tax basis entries as needed for year-end and prepare tax and applicable audit work papers.
  • Monitor cash and ensure that critical payments are made timely, and prepare funding reports as needed.
  • Participate in budget preparation by providing information and analysis to property managers, and review budgets for accuracy and uploading into accounting software.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for assigned properties, and track tenant upfit allowances using Excel and job costing software.
  • Maintain fixed asset listings and depreciation, and analyze data from several sources to provide accurate and complete answers for owners.
  • Prepare personal property tax listings and monitor sales/use tax for owners.
Requirements:
  • Four-year degree in Accounting required.
  • Three years of real estate and/or public accounting experience preferred.
  • GAAP experience required.
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to build effective relationships in a cohesive business environment.
