Position Summary: We are looking for a proficient and committed Medical Assistant with a background in Orthopedics to become a vital part of our team at Royalty Medical Solutions. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our healthcare professionals in delivering outstanding orthopedic care to our patients. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of clinical and administrative duties, ensuring the efficient functioning of the department while providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare examination areas and maintain adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Guide patients to examination rooms and assist with assessments and procedures.
  • Record vital signs, medical histories, and primary complaints.
  • Support healthcare providers during orthopedic procedures and treatments.
  • Conduct basic laboratory tests and gather specimens for analysis.
  • Apply and remove casts and splints as instructed by the healthcare provider.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and coding of orthopedic procedures and treatments.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals or facilities as necessary.

Administrative Duties:

  • Coordinate patient appointments, surgeries, and follow-up visits.
  • Manage medical records with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Verify insurance coverage and secure necessary authorizations.
  • Respond to phone calls, inquiries, and requests from patients and their families.
  • Assist with billing and coding responsibilities, ensuring compliance with regulations and insurance standards.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an orthopedic environment.
  • Strong understanding of orthopedic procedures, treatments, and anatomy.
  • Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic setting.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ability to provide compassionate care to patients of all ages.
  • Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes.
