Highland Park, Texas, United States Baylor Scott & White Health Full time
About Baylor Scott & White Health
Baylor Scott & White Health is the largest not-for-profit healthcare system in Texas, dedicated to supporting well-being for all people, families, and communities. We encourage healthy living and are committed to providing top-notch care.

We believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare, which is why we strive to make our services as accessible as possible. Our trauma centers provide immediate access to time off benefits, ensuring that our employees can take care of themselves and their loved ones when needed.

As a Trauma Services Director, you will play a crucial role in driving improvement initiatives, overseeing training, and managing promotion and communications. Your partnership with leadership will be essential in ensuring the success of our trauma centers. You will plan and carry out projects to meet yearly goals, overseeing staff, processes, budgets, and costs. This includes managing subordinates, solving technical issues, and tracking performance. Your expertise will help shape our trauma care efforts and develop strategic plans and operational priorities for trauma care, aligned with our business priorities.

You will work closely with senior staff, medical, and nursing teams to coordinate and deliver trauma services in our center. Regularly assessing the care provided to trauma patients and spearheading quality and performance improvements in the trauma center is key to your role. You will detect possible criterion deficits in accordance with the ACS guidelines and communicate hurdles toward rectification to senior staff. Establishing and enforcing policies and procedures to deliver optimal trauma care in the designated area is also a critical aspect of your job. Ensuring compliance with accepted standards and patient management guidelines on trauma care, identifying and resolving potential issues, will be a vital responsibility. Additionally, you will take charge of the selection and organization of trauma education for the trauma center or assigned trauma service.

To excel in this role, you should have 3 years of experience in trauma, surgical critical care, or a similar field. Familiarity in working within large, structured healthcare organizations and across different departments and clinical disciplines will be useful. Our workforce should mirror our communities. A Bachelor's degree is required, and maintaining a current certification in Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses or Trauma Nurse Core Course is necessary. The estimated annual salary for this position is around $120,000, based on industry standards and the location of Baylor Scott & White Health.
