Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at Lakewood Cont Care Center. This full-time position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will work closely with our nursing staff to provide direct and indirect patient care, ensuring the highest level of comfort and dignity for our patients.

About the Role
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff.
  • Performs duties such as feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, or changing linens.
  • May transfer or transport patients.
Responsibilities
  1. Communicates and interacts with patients and families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize unit function.
  2. Precepts team members to job function.
  3. Orients patient to hospital environment and routine.
  4. Documents all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
  5. Participates in unit quality improvement initiatives.
  6. Communicates appropriate information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow-up.
  7. Provides care in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
  8. Labels and delivers specimens per policy.
  9. Maintains a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; reports and directly addresses environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Maine.
  • BLS certification is to be obtained prior to caring for patients and is to be kept current.
  • 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
