Certified Nursing Care Specialist

In this rewarding role, you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of nursing staff at Lakewood Cont Care Center. Your duties will include feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients, as well as changing linens. You may also transfer or transport patients.
About the Job
- Communicate and interact with patients and families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to ensure successful customer outcomes and optimize unit function.
- Precept team members on job functions and orient patients to hospital environment and routine.
- Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner and participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.
- Communicate important information and patient needs to oncoming staff at shift change and to RN for follow-up.
- Provide care in accordance with patient's plan of care and label and deliver specimens per policy.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Maine.
- BLS certification is required prior to caring for patients and must be kept current.
- 1 year experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Working Conditions
- Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds.
- Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
Salary Information
The estimated salary for this position is $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.
