Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Provider Opportunity

Job Summary:

Seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the University of Texas at Austin. As a key member of our Heart Failure and Transplant Services team, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of pediatric and congenital heart conditions.
  • Counsel and educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Document patient care and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network policy.
  • Participate in orientation and education of staff and students.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessments via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for patients.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of patient conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Engage in discharge planning and other related duties as assigned.


Requirements:

Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing. Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care. Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing. Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations. Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team.
