We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at the Texas Center for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, Dell Medical School. The successful candidate will provide expert care to pediatric and congenital heart patients, working collaboratively with supervising physicians to expand individualized healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Counsel and educate cardiac critical care patients and their families/caregivers concerning health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
- Document delivery of cardiac critical healthcare and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network nursing policy.
- Participate in orientation and education of staff and students.
- Obtain cardiac critical care patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview, and examination.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients. Perform health assessments, screening, and patient care.
- Provide direct treatment and management of cardiac critical care conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. Engage in discharge planning.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing.
- Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care.
- Credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing in Acute Care nursing.
- Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance.
- Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations.
- Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi-disciplinary healthcare delivery team.
- Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
- Use of manual dexterity.
- Lifting and moving.
- Uniforms and/or personal protection equipment (furnished).
- May work around standard office conditions.
- May work around biohazards.
- Resume/CV.
