Job Summary

As a Pediatric Cardiology Specialist, you will play a critical role in the expansion of individualized healthcare services for pediatric and congenital heart conditions. In collaboration with supervising physicians, you will diagnose and treat patients, providing expert care and guidance to families and caregivers.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel and educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment options, and community resources.
  • Document delivery of cardiac critical care and nursing processes in accordance with care standards and network nursing policy.
  • Participate in orientation and education of staff and students.
  • Obtain patient history and perform assessments via observation, interview, and examination.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies for cardiac critical care patients.
  • Provide direct treatment and management of cardiac critical care conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
  • Engage in discharge planning.

Requirements

A Physician's Assistant or Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing is required. A Licensed Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority specializing in Cardiac Critical Care is also required. Experience in caring for children with complex congenital and acquired heart disease in a Pediatric and Congenital Cardiac Critical Care Unit is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment are also required.
