Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Stanford Health Care. As a Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints, and health maintenance concerns related to specialty.
  • Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients.
  • Perform or request and evaluate diagnostic studies as indicated upon evaluation of the patient.
  • Administer medications according to the formulary protocol or upon patient-specific approval from the supervising physician.
  • Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
  • Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services.
  • Perform designated procedures after demonstrated competency, according to written standardized procedures where applicable.
  • Obtain informed consent, as indicated.
  • Initiate arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • As directed by the supervising physician, enroll patients in investigational studies approved by the Investigational Review Board (IRB), and order the necessary tests and medications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university.
  • Graduate of a PA program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc.
  • PA - Physician Assistant State Licensure and BLS - Basic Life Support and DEA - Drug Enforcement Administration.
