Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. As a key member of our Bass Center team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine care and management of patients with acute and chronic complaints, in collaboration with supervising physicians and through implementation of standardized procedures.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with acute, chronic complaints, and health maintenance concerns related to specialty, according to written standardized procedures.
  • Obtain complete histories and perform pertinent physical exams with assessment of normal and abnormal findings on new and return patients.
  • Perform or request and evaluate diagnostic studies as indicated upon evaluation of the patient.
  • Administer, order, furnish, and prescribe medications.
  • Order and collect specimens for routine laboratory tests, screening procedures, and therapeutic procedures, including blood and blood products.
  • Order physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology examinations, and nursing services.
  • Perform designated procedures after demonstrated competency, according to written standardized procedures where applicable.
  • Obtain informed consent, as indicated.
  • Initiate arrangements for hospital admissions and discharges and complete appropriate paperwork.
  • Assist the supervising physician in the operating room, as directed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or above from an accredited college or university for Physician Assistant (PA) candidates.
  • Masters or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited college or university for Nurse Practitioner (NP) candidates.
  • Licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of California for PA candidates.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of California for NP candidates.
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA) by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) for PA candidates.
  • Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the State of California and National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) from an agency accredited by the American Board of Nursing Specialties (ABNS) for NP candidates.
