Job Overview


We're seeking an exceptional Chief Leather Goods Merchandising Strategist to join our dynamic team in New York. As a key member of our merchandising department, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our women's leather goods strategy, working closely with our Vice President of Merchandising to drive business growth and exceed sales targets.


Key Responsibilities



  • Strategy & Analytics

    • Analyze sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, providing actionable insights to inform future purchasing decisions and optimize inventory management.
    • Conduct market research to stay ahead of the curve, ensuring our products remain competitive and aligned with customer needs.
    • Develop and maintain regular communication with our sales teams to gauge market conditions, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Collaborate with our merchandising planner to create seasonal sales plans and Open-to-Buy for our women's leather goods categories.
    • Compile pricing analysis and competitor research to inform our pricing strategies and ensure optimal profitability.
    • Recommend reorders, special orders, and stock management strategies to maximize inventory efficiency and minimize waste.
    • Collaborate with our Milan headquarters to ensure seamless communication and coordination on sales performance, product issues, and competitive landscape.

  • Product Feedback & Training

    • Attend market events to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and product developments, ensuring our products remain relevant and desirable.
    • Partner with our cross-functional teams to create unique and personalized client experiences, driving customer loyalty and retention.
    • Develop and execute seasonal trunk shows to showcase our latest products and build brand awareness.
    • Educate our retail teams on each collection, communicating merchandising strategies, selling points, and seasonal trends to ensure seamless execution and maximum sales potential.


Requirements


To succeed in this role, you'll need:



  • At least 4-5 years of previous merchandising/buying experience in the luxury industry.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Strong knowledge of luxury market products, philosophy, and trends, with a passion for staying ahead of the curve.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with a strong understanding of retail math and analytics.

What We Offer


In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary range of $115,000 - $120,000 (plus discretionary bonus) and a dynamic work environment that fosters growth, innovation, and collaboration.
