Supply Chain Logistics Specialist

The Logistics Coordinator at Hermann Services plays a crucial role in managing the transportation of goods by coordinating with outsourced carrier partners. This position involves negotiating rates, dispatching drivers, and fostering strong relationships to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of products. Key responsibilities include tracking shipments, managing carrier documentation, scheduling appointments, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Load Brokerage: Identify, negotiate, and secure transportation capacity to meet customer shipping needs, ensuring timely and economical freight movement.
- Carrier Relationship Management: Build and sustain robust partnerships with carriers, handling rate negotiations, issue resolution, and adherence to service agreements.
- Customer Communication: Act as the main contact for clients, offering updates on shipment progress, addressing questions, and resolving any transportation-related issues.
- Route Optimization: Evaluate shipping demands and available carrier capacity to enhance routing efficiency, reducing transit times and costs.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure all required documentation, including contracts and shipping instructions, is accurately completed and compliant with regulations.
- Problem Resolution: Proactively identify and address challenges during transportation, such as delays or damages, to maintain service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Data Analysis: Leverage transportation management systems and analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators, recognize trends, and make informed decisions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with various teams to pinpoint opportunities for process enhancements, streamline operations, and elevate service quality to boost customer satisfaction and drive business growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Customer Management Systems.
- Detail-oriented data entry skills.
- Experience in a Customer Service role.
- Preferred experience in the transportation industry.
