Risk Management Officer

  • Formulate, design, and execute proactive strategies to mitigate financial, physical, and personnel risks within a network of financial institutions.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance standards and implement best practices in risk management for security measures.
  • Lead investigations into fraudulent activities and take appropriate actions to resolve suspicious occurrences.
  • Administer a compliance monitoring program to guarantee alignment with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Supervise the anti-money laundering monitoring framework and generate necessary reports for regulatory bodies.
  • Collaborate with service providers for system evaluations and adjustments to fulfill regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and implement loss prevention initiatives and provide training to staff on risk management protocols.
  • Work with the Training Department to create compliance and security educational programs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in a financial institution, ideally within a credit union
  • Background in physical security
  • At least 5 years of experience in loss prevention
  • 3 years of experience with security technology
  • 5 years of experience in credit union regulatory compliance
  • Leadership experience managing a risk management team
  • CFE certification preferred
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and fraud prevention/compliance software
  • Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
  • Able to handle high-pressure situations and work flexible hours
