Job Title: Manager Finance - Pooling (Hybrid)

Sedgwick is a leading global provider of technology-enabled risk, benefits, and integrated business solutions. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager Finance to join our team in a hybrid role that combines on-site and remote work.

About the Role

The Manager Finance will act as the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) technical advisor to pool management, ensuring that assigned financial duties are recorded and presented according to GAAP. This role will also partner in the budget/forecast process, conduct financial analysis projects, and provide support to upper management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounting staff and direct their work to accomplish assigned Finance department responsibilities.
  • Interact with senior management in the development and understanding of strategies.
  • Own the accounting and analysis/reporting needs for the pooling organization.
  • Provide innovative and effective analysis to enhance management and client understanding of complicated financial issues.
  • Prepare written reports for and make oral presentations to risk pool client Boards of Directors, Committees, and other parties.
  • Perform analysis related to member underwriting, self-insured retention changes, experience modification, and cost allocation formulas.
  • Oversee preparation of annual budget and all other annual reporting processes for assigned pooling clients.
  • Provide research on new and existing accounting and financial reporting issues.
  • Ensure procedures are in place to maintain accuracy and meet auditor requirements.
  • Work with a variety of vendors, including actuaries, auditors, and investment advisors to perform complex data analysis.
  • Serve as a financial subject matter expert for pooling and public agency clients.
  • Oversee account payable and accounts receivable functions as well as management of general ledger.
  • Oversee reconciliations of monthly bank and investments.
  • Effectively oversee investment advisor and treasury management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Licenses as required.
  • Seven (7) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • PC literate, including Microsoft Office products.
  • Analytical and interpretive skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proven management/leadership skills.
  • Excellent negotiating skills.
  • Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate, and constructive written reports.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
