Position Summary

As the Environmental Sustainability Specialist at Compass Group USA, you will serve as a key expert responsible for developing and implementing sustainability initiatives across the organization.

In collaboration with the sustainability team, you will engage with cross-functional groups and suppliers to enhance sustainability practices and achieve organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance the use of certified sustainable products and maintain exemplary partnerships with relevant programs.
  • Develop strategies and collaborate with external consultants to meet long-term sustainability targets.
  • Work closely with global teams to represent sustainability efforts and engage with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with legal and public relations teams to manage responses to sustainability-related news.
  • Prepare and present sustainability progress reports to company leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement tools to improve supply chain risk management related to sustainability.
  • Partner with diversity teams to promote local and diverse supplier initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with corporate and sector stakeholders to drive sustainability commitments.
  • Support tracking and compliance with evolving sustainability regulations.
  • Provide accurate sustainability reporting and enhance data quality for ongoing improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a sustainability-related field is preferred.
  • Strong public speaking skills and previous experience in sustainability are advantageous.
  • A genuine passion for environmental stewardship is essential.
  • Familiarity with sustainability certifications and claims is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills are necessary.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
