About the Role
Foundation Health Partners is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scheduling Coordinator to join our team. As a Medical Scheduling Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating patient scheduling, registration, and pre-certifications for our Outpatient Endocrinology Clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient scheduling and registration processes, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient information.
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations and pre-certifications as needed.
- Manage patient records and maintain accurate statistical reports.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families, responding to their questions and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to ensure seamless patient care.
- Perform financial counseling and explain FHP financial policies to patients and their families.
- Meet or exceed productivity standards and maintain accurate production logs and records.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
- One (1) or more years of medical clerical experience, preferably in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting.
- Medical terminology knowledge and proficiency with commonly used office software and computers.
- Excellent organizational skills, human relations, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting.
- Additional related education and/or experience.
