The Health Solutions Insights (HSI) team at Mathematica is seeking a Resource Manager to operate from any of our offices or remotely.

Under the direction of the Director of Resource Management, the Resource Manager will oversee staffing and performance management within the division.

They will be responsible for managing the supply and demand of talent, skills, and capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with HSI practice leaders and client partners on staffing utilization and forecasting.

Contribute to best practices for talent management, forecasting future growth to address staffing needs, and work with HR on recruitment and performance evaluation.

Supervise a segment of the division's talent pool, ensuring adequate staffing, career development opportunities, and performance management, including providing feedback and conducting performance appraisals.

Enhance staff utilization by aligning staff with suitable projects, promoting cross-team resource sharing, and minimizing reliance on external contractors or consultants.

Deploy available personnel to client-facing roles or business development opportunities to facilitate on-the-job learning.

In conjunction with the Director of Resource Management, assist senior directors in identifying essential skills and capabilities required for project execution.

Drive innovative staffing and performance solutions to address business challenges.
Provide support to staff throughout their onboarding and career development journey.
Utilize reporting tools and data to actively monitor staff utilization, client alignment, and work assignments.
Manage and resolve complex staffing or performance issues.
Collaborate effectively across technology and research and advisory services teams.

Actively promote the advancement of organizational diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, applying a diversity, equity, and inclusion perspective across job responsibilities.


Position Requirements:


A bachelor's degree in human resources, management, business administration, organizational development, economics, computer science, or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.

7 years of experience in a product or service delivery capacity.
7 years of experience as a resource manager, project manager, HR manager, or organizational consultant.
Experience in talent development, resource management, and supply-demand management.
Familiarity with a technical discipline such as analytics, data science, data management, or software engineering.
Extensive experience in effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences across an organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in building and leading teams.
Experience working in a matrixed environment within a dynamic, growing team.
This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of $100,000 - $135,000. This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
Staff in our Health unit will eventually engage with our largest client, Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services (CMS).

Most staff working on CMS contracts will be required to complete a successful background investigation including the Questionnaire for Public Trust Position SF-85 ( SF-85 Form ).

Staff who cannot successfully undergo the background investigation will need to seek work outside CMS.

Staff will collaborate with their supervisor to secure new assignments; however, failure to do so may result in employment termination due to lack of work.
