Overview:

The role of a Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist involves executing a diverse range of standard and advanced imaging techniques. This position requires collaboration with fellow imaging professionals to ensure seamless operations. Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold the standards of the OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.

• Conduct various diagnostic imaging procedures, including complex cases, using cutting-edge computerized imaging technology.

• Exhibit proficiency in initiating and maintaining intravenous (IV) access, along with operating high-speed, pressurized injection systems.

• Assess patients for clinical contrast history and identify any potential contraindications.

• Follow established protocols, quality assurance guidelines, and regulatory standards diligently.

• Engage effectively with patients and healthcare providers, coordinating and prioritizing imaging procedures to ensure optimal patient care and continuity.

• Demonstrate flexibility and readiness to rotate among departments and clinics for adequate coverage.

• Assist Radiologists in performing invasive and biopsy procedures utilizing CT technology to accurately locate anatomical structures.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, ensuring they are well-stocked prior to procedures and compliant with Infection Control standards.

• Accurately code and enter all charges related to imaging services.

• Adapt assessment and treatment methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual, and developmental needs of each patient.

• Safeguard patient confidentiality and refrain from disclosing any sensitive information unless necessary for job functions.

• Adhere to the core values of CHRISTUS Health in all professional interactions.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A. Education/Skills
  • Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program or an equivalent recognized institution is required.
B. Experience
  • A minimum of 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical environment is required.
  • Preferred: 3 years of CT experience in a clinical imaging setting.
C. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
  • Must be registered with the (ARRT) American Registry of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT registration in CT is required.
  • Current state licensure is mandatory.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
