- Manage staffing levels and skill distribution across all shifts
- Engage in the formulation and evaluation of departmental policies
- Implement best practices to improve quality of care and services
- Evaluate and enhance clinical nursing practices
- Develop processes to improve patient care outcomes
- Monitor service quality for varied patient needs
- Provide staff oversight, identify training requirements, and encourage educational opportunities
- Collaborate with various departments within the healthcare facility
- Act as an advocate for patients
- Assist in budget formulation and cost-saving initiatives
- Address human resources, employee safety, and risk management concerns
- A minimum of two years of nursing experience
- At least two years of leadership experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Valid Registered Nurse License in California
- Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications
- Completion of preceptor or charge nurse training
- Understanding of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, and regulatory requirements
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to function in a collaborative environment
- One year of critical care or emergency department nursing experience
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
